The Missouri National Veterans Memorial was the vision of two Missouri Vietnam Veterans and the son of another; Jim Eddleman, Frank Robinson and Mike Lundy, all members of Perry County’s Military History Museum, who along with other members of the county’s military history museum began to explore how veterans and commitment & service focused Missourians could best communicate the overwhelming importance of commitment and service to their fellow citizens and our posterity.
Jim donated 47 acres just north of the city limits of Perryville, Missouri and a significant amount of his family’s accumulated wealth to create what would become Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial, the center piece of which is a full scale, virtually exact replica of the National Vietnam Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Due to a significant amount of public/private collaboration, funding is becoming available for what will soon be additional tributes to our veterans: a Veteran’s Hall, Water Feature/Reflecting Fountain, Bell Tower, Amphitheatre, Interfaith Chapel, Military Cemetery.
